Whalley Artisan Market will raise the roof on Sunday with a live DJ set from none other than Sam Flanagan, one of the UK’s most versatile and celebrated DJs.
Tour DJ for Nile Rodgers & Chic, a fresh resident at Day Fever, and a familiar face at Ibiza Rocks, Reading and Leeds Festival, and Glastonbury, Sam has been called “Lancashire’s answer to 2 Many DJs” by The Guardian, while DJ Yoda hails him as “the hot UK mixtape name”.
His genre-spanning sets blending soul, funk, disco, hip hop, house and indie have seen him perform with De La Soul and Soul II Soul, and his productions have been played by Purple Disco Machine and Dr Packer. Sam’s mixes have featured across BBC Radio 1, BBC 6 Music, and BBC Sounds, with BBC Introducing naming him one of the country’s best multi-genre DJs.

Locals may remember his early roots at The Cellar Bar in Blackburn, where he became a cult name in the Lancashire indie scene. Now, after decades on the national and international circuit, he returns for a rare live set in Whalley.
“Booking Sam Flanagan is a landmark moment for our market,” said Laura Johnson, co-founder of Crafty Vintage. “He’s played with the biggest names in music but he’s still a local lad at heart. This will be something very special.”
The market takes place from 11am to 4pm, with Sam Flanagan live from 12.30pm. Expect a buzzing open-air experience filled with artisan makers, vintage traders, creative brands, food, drinks and live entertainment all in one of Lancashire’s most picturesque villages.
Places to visit nearby include Vault Bar & Kitchen, Whalley Wine Bar, Fifty9, King Street Kitchen, Deux Amis, The Dog Inn and The DeLacy Arms.
