Visitors of all abilities are welcome at Lowther. Some terrain however is not suitable for wheelchairs. Please ask a member of staff if you need advice.

Accessibility

Guests of all abilities and levels of mobility are welcome at Lowther. The gardens, the castle ruins, the lost castle, the café, the exhibition, shop and loos are all accessible by wheelchair.  The gardens offer level paths of hard gravel around the main lawns and some of the later gardens, woodchip in some areas, and fine hard turf along the escarpment.  Please be aware, due to the nature of gardens and natural sites, there are areas of the gardens which are not accessible to people with limited mobility. Pushchair “drivers” also benefit from wide doorways and easy access pathways.
